Is the “Son of God” in that he shared incarnationally the nature of God. The authentic Jesus from 2,000 years ago was fully human and better than the mythological and idealized version Christianity has developed. Jesus experienced everything humans experience.

The most profound display of the Incarnation is “Immanuel” (God with us). (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23)

God is ever present within the consciousness of every human. Whether we sleep or are awake, do what’s right or wrong, God is always next to us. In John 14, Jesus promised his disciples he would leave physically but God’s presence would never abandon them.

Humans are better than what we have been told.

Humans struggle with inherited tendencies, but there is a source of energy always drawing us towards wholeness.

We have what we consider to be a unique view about “religion.” Theologian and philosopher Howard Thurman stated in “Jesus and the Disinherited” (1949) that there is a “religion OF Jesus” and a “religion ABOUT Jesus”. We affirm the religion of Jesus as he taught it 2,000 years ago.

We feel the world is angry at distorted religion while longing to experience the religion of Jesus in the lives of those who choose to be “Jesus in the world.”

We view church as the community of those who choose to experience communion as a space where we bring our “lack” and experience the “lack” of others. We affirm our inability to be complete on our own. We believe that church is the place where we experience wholeness with each other and God’s presence as we embrace our lack of completeness.

Is a life journey towards wholeness. We don’t believe in “perfection” at “Life Center” but continuous growth and development. We grow through failures, through suffering and joyful experiences.

We view the Bible as the story of humans navigating their understanding of God for thousands of years. We don’t believe God dictated the Bible, but rather humans wrote what their experiences of themselves and God along the way. We don’t see the Bible as inerrant.

The Sabbath is a memorial and celebration of God’s presence with humanity. The seventh-day was “created” as an extra day for a purpose. That’s so meaningful! In fact the order of creation every day of the week starting with the evening and the followed by the day points to the way God views human activity. REST first, then labor. Western culture has promoted exactly the opposite. Salvation is not to be earned! It’s experienced in trusting God’s grace by faith.

Jesus stated that physical death is like “sleep”. (Luke 8:15; John 11). Jesus spoke of a resurrection at his Second Coming.

We at “Life Center” don’t speculate regarding time of the end events, except we believe that Jesus will return in the midst of tragic events as described by Jesus in Matthew 24:12 (Confusion, false religion, inhumanity, loss of love) and in the book of Revelation.

We are an interdenominational church, yet we share the message of Jesus as he taught it 2,000 years ago. We believe the Adventist movement of 1844 was meant to unbury the essential message of Jesus as revealed in the forgotten truths of the Sabbath, the state of the dead, and the Second Coming of Jesus.
